Rod and I became friends during our first semester of law school and, after two years of skiing, biking, climbing, and entertaining together, we became more than friends.

Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer. So far really funny.
The Emperor's Children. SO slow. I wonder if I will ever finish this book.
Just finished:
Shadow of the Wind: One of my favorite books of the year.
In the Woods: a well-written page turner.
The Handmaid's Tale: Well written and very original. I couldn't put it down.
Dark Star Safari: Slow at the beginning, but picks up. Very well written and an interesting viewpoint about aide to Africa.
Dragon Tattoo trilogy: I got sucked in very quickly.
The Help: Another favorite of the year.
Atlas Shrugged: Amazed that such a dull subject matter could be such a page turner (except for the last section)
The Beach: Really quick read. Raises interesting questions about "off the beaten path" tourism.
Complete Persepolis: Great! I was surprised to be so moved by something that looks like a comic book.
My Horizontal Life: Funny. Quick read.
All the Pretty Horses. McCarthy has an incredible talent for describing a scene in a way that you would never have thought of, but which helps you visualize the scene with incredible detail.
Revolutionary Road. Beautifully written, but painful.
Fool. Raunchy and hilarious. A much happier version of King Lear.
Sarah's Key. Convenient and SOOOOOOOO predictable.
